Spirit AI and Shanghai HiSilicon Forge Partnership, Achieving Key Breakthrough in Autonomous Embodied AI Computing




Following HUAWEI Hubble's strategic investment in June, Spirit AI and Shanghai HiSilicon have deepened their collaboration to achieve full-stack integration between a high-performance computing platform based on Ascend architecture and Moz full-torque-controlled humanoid robots. This partnership marks a critical breakthrough in autonomous innovation of core computing power for embodied AI systems.

Amid intensifying global AI competition, developing an independent computing core for robotics has become a strategic imperative. While large models provide the "intelligent soul" for robots, this collaboration establishes a reliable "heart" – a fully self-developed computing foundation for embodied AI.

Through this cooperation, Spirit AI has integrated and optimized a high-performance binocular module based on Shanghai HiSilicon's Hi3519DV500 chip. The module delivers 720P30 depth computation with high precision, low latency and minimal power consumption. Joint technical teams have also implemented comprehensive algorithm optimizations, significantly improving detection accuracy for slender objects, enhancing matching in weak-texture areas, and reducing data noise through advanced filtering. The addition of sub-pixel computation further elevates depth measurement precision, substantially enhancing the robot's perceptual robustness in complex environments.

          

This collaboration successfully validates the feasibility of deploying Ascend-based computing platforms in robotics applications. Spirit AI has effectively ported its VLA model and core algorithms to the Ascend edge computing platform, establishing a replicable benchmark for independent computing innovation in the industry. Both parties will continue to expand cooperation, promoting the adoption of additional domestic chip solutions spanning perception, simulation and connectivity technologies, thereby advancing the robotics industry into a new phase of fully localized AI-driven components.
