Spirit AI has been named one of "The Information’s 50 Most Promising Startups of 2025," securing the No. 2 spot in Asia. The recognition highlights its innovative work in embodied AI and humanoid robotics, positioning the company as an emerging global hard-tech leader.
The list, curated by The Information’s editorial team through rigorous industry research and multi-dimensional analysis, selects only 50 startups from tens of thousands worldwide—an acceptance rate below 0.5%.
Founded in February 2024, Spirit AI is led by a seasoned core team with expertise in robotics, AI research, and global commercialization. Team members hail from top academic and corporate backgrounds, including UC Berkeley, CMU, Tsinghua, ByteDance, and Xiaomi. In
June 2025, the company launched Moz1—China’s first high-performance full-body torque-controlled humanoid robot—equipped with 26 degrees of freedom and self-developed joint motors with leading power density. Its proprietary Spirit v1 VLA model enables long-horizon tasks such as folding clothes and using a microwave, demonstrating cross-task generalization.
