On May 20, 2026, Spirit AI announced a strategic partnership with D-Robotics. Combining Spirit AI’s leading capabilities in embodied foundation model development and real-world deployment with D-Robotics’ high-performance edge AI computing expertise, the two companies have completed the deep integration of Spirit AI’s open-source embodied model Spirit v1.5 with D-Robotics’ Sunrise S600 high-performance computing platform for embodied AI.
Together, the two companies aim to develop high-performance, production-ready integrated hardware-software solutions, accelerating the transition of embodied intelligence from laboratory research to real-world applications.
Developed by Spirit AI, Spirit v1.5 is China’s first open-source VLA foundation model to surpass the international benchmark π0.5 in overall performance. Built on a unified VLA modeling framework, Spirit v1.5 deeply integrates visual perception, language understanding, and action generation, delivering outstanding real-world task execution, strong generalization, and stable long-horizon performance. The model is designed to efficiently support complex scenarios including industrial assembly, precision manipulation, and material handling.
Powered by these capabilities, Spirit v1.5 can perform a wide range of challenging tasks. From precisely handing over capsule toys and smoothly preparing tanghulu (candied fruit skewers) to organizing cluttered desktops, the model can handle random disturbances and irregular objects while maintaining robust, continuous long-horizon execution.
More importantly, Spirit v1.5 demonstrates strong generalization in unfamiliar environments. Its diverse pre-training strategy enables stable cross-task performance across a broad spectrum of real-world environments, from factory production lines to household settings.
The Sunrise S600 is D-Robotics’ flagship high-performance computing chip designed for embodied intelligence. Delivering 560 TOPS (INT8) of AI computing power, the S600 is built on a mature multi-core heterogeneous architecture. From hardware architecture and compute scheduling to low-level drivers, the platform is optimized to support efficient and stable inference for large-scale VLA models.
Spirit AI and D-Robotics have now completed joint integration and optimization, enabling Spirit v1.5 to achieve stable end-to-end inference on the Sunrise S600 platform, with runtime efficiency ranking among the leading solutions in its class.
Moving forward, the two companies will continue to deepen joint optimization and improve inference efficiency, delivering integrated hardware-software solutions with higher performance, lower latency, and greater stability. These solutions will support edge deployment across diverse scenarios while further lowering the barriers to the commercialization of embodied intelligence on physical robotic platforms.
